School Morning Checklist Freebie

img_6375

Does anyone else struggle with your kids never listening to what they need to do each school morning to get ready? Even though it’s the same thing EVERY morning, they look at you after you get mad like a wounded puppy that is just learning the ropes. “You’re telling me that you were completely blown away that you had to brush your teeth after breakfast and I’ve never asked you to do that before? Even one minute ago? REALLY?!”. I digress 😉

Can you tell it’s been a trying morning at our household?! Yesterday I decided to try out a check list they can look at instead of me constantly repeating myself and getting frustrated. We have yet to fully try it since I am taking them to get laminated this morning. This way, they can check off each box over and over without me having to reprint. I put the basic steps that I think most households do to get ready in the morning: eat breakfast, brush teeth, get dressed, brush hair and make the bed (not sure if this last one is standard for most, but I make them do this starting in kindergarten and they get a break on the weekend). I also created little pictures as well as words because my kindergartener isn’t quite reading yet. Fingers crossed this helps mornings go smoother and this Mama can rest her voice and save her sanity!!! Hope it helps you guys too! Click here for the download 🙂

Happy Monday!

Free Printable Stickers!!

img_6335

Now that both my kiddos are in full time school now, I am trying to focus on creating new products for my Etsy site and up my branding game 🙂 I haven’t settled in to a routine yet and my head is spinning with all the possibilities of what I can do with my time. I’ve also been knocking items off my to-do list that have been building over the summer. Here is one item I just knocked off the to-do list (feels so good!). I’ve been wanting to create a little promo sticker set to add to my printed orders as a little thank you to my customers. And if you haven’t ever checked out Moo for printables, you simply must. Their quality is amazing and their prices are awesome too. The biggest awesomeness about them is their site is super user friendly. And for a gal with not much time to fuss with things, this is a major bonus for me. I just sent these little guys off to Moo and I’m getting 104 for $25 with shipping. Not too shabby I’d say! I can’t wait to get them in the mail in a few weeks.

BUT…I wanted to share these with all of you as a free download!! Yippee! They come 20 per sheet with four designs and 1.5″ round. I’ve given a generous .25″ bleed so you don’t have to worry about punching them super exact. They are perfect to stick on an envelope to a friend, jam lids as a thank you, or whatever you can come up with. I hope you enjoy! Click here for the link.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Free Printable Lunch Notes!

IMG_5783

I can’t believe I am talking about back to school already! We still have some serious summering to do, but back to school is nearing and I need to start thinking school supplies, clothes, backpacks, etc.

Last year I put a lunch note in my girls’ lunches nearly every day. There were some days I missed and I have to confess, the majority of them were more clustered at the end of the year. Partly because they were getting tired of the same old rotation of notes, and partly because I was burnt out on making lunches!!! Most days I wondered if they even cared I put a note in their lunch and if it had any impact. But when I would forget, I would hear about it when they got home. So if it helps them feel a little love to get them through the day, I’m willing to go the extra step. After all, the days when want a note from mom in their lunch and aren’t embarrassed by me are numbered. So I will take this time while I have it.

My littlest is starting Kindergarten this year (when did that happen?!) and so I want to make her first big year just as special as her big sister’s. To help myself not slacking on adding notes to their lunches, I created another lunch note set and I plan on printing a TON before school starts so I’ll always have a supply. Click here for the free printable download and check out my Frella Design Etsy shop for some more lunch note sets.

Thank Card Freebie

IMG_5647

I have some thank you’s to catch up on since my “birf”day was not too long ago. I didn’t have anything lying around that I haven’t used a million times already or that was a bit more sophisticated than a kids thank you note. Sooooo, after a fun day trip to Edison, WA with girlfriends, a trip to Colorado and an oh-so fun and much needed girls-night-in last night, I was finally able to sit down to create a new thank you card.

I’m a lucky lady to have such thoughtful friends in my life. I am always blown away at the care my friends put in to their gifts. Of course I always love the gifts I am given, but it is thoughtfulness that gets me every time. Truly – one hundred percent – feeling the love – how did I end up with such extraordinary ladies in my life?

And to share that love with you all, you can download this free thank you card right here. I hope everyone has friends in their lives that know just the right little something to make you feel special.  For me, it’s an awesome marble cheese board and a circle picnic blanket with a concert ticket (yippee!!). Such a difficult person to please 😉

Free Nature Scavenger Hunt Printable

IMG_5356

I was out with my girls yesterday and we found some local trails to explore. Normally, my seven year old is gung-ho to explore and my five year old is “too tired” to walk anywhere. However, to my surprise, they were both willing to see where the said trail led and we were off on a little unexpected adventure. It was a breath of fresh air (literally) to be outside in nature enjoying ever turn and corner with my two little ones. No one complained or whined and we kept going to see what we would discover. Even my five year old said she wants to do more trail walks…what?! OK!! To help keep interests alive, we made it an adventure to see how many different things we could find. We saw bunnies, a blue heron, ducks, flowers, creeks, bugs, etc. I think it’s so important for young ones to get out and see what is past their backyard. Fortunately in the Northwest, we are so lucky to have woodlands and forested areas just minutes outside any given neighborhood.

During our excursion yesterday I was inspired to make my own version of a nature scavenger hunt card. I was kid free this afternoon and had fun creating little illustrations for the printable. I rarely get several hours at a time to myself to create something fun just because. And here it is to share with you all…for free! Click here your free download and I hope you have many adventures this summer exploring your local trails with the little ones!

Modern Calligraphy Wedding Invitation Suite in Etsy Shop

IMG_5305

For years I have contemplated creating a wedding invitation suite, but always avoided it. As much as I love brides, I also was one once (in a distant past) and I remember how picky I was at the time and it has made me nervous that I wouldn’t be able to meet the particular demands. I have two young girls that are quite demanding in their own right, so I have needed items in my shop that are simple and straight forward. However, I do love including all of the accessory items that go along with an invitation…the table numbers, RSVP card, menu cards, etc. It just makes a wedding complete and wrapped up in a neat little bow. So with a little forward thinking and some tips from other Etsy Sellers, I think this pretty little wedding suite is customizable enough for the most particular bride. And the best part, I think, is that all of the items aside from the invitation, are editable by you. All the script text is static and the informational text is entered in by the user. I plan to add more color options in the future and maybe crack at some other designs…

My wedding was ten years ago (yikes!) and the style was way different back then. My colors were brown and green and for the time, I think our wedding was very elegant. Fast forward 10 years later and this suite of paper goods would be how I’d like my wedding to vibe. Simple, classic yet modern, black and white and not too fussy. I think that sums up my personality…maybe not quite if you ask my husband – maybe add in a little stubborn?! 😉 You can check it out on my Frella Etsy site here.

Vote on Minted

Merry Christmoose
Hey there friends! A little confusing seeing a Christmas card in June, right?! Well, I finally got around to submitting my first design (and hopefully not the last!) on Minted. It’s an awesome site for designers to submit their artwork and be voted by the people. And if your submission is one of the top voted, your design gets to be featured on Minted for consumers to purchase. Win, win in my books! But of course, they need to be ahead of the current season and ready for the next, so their holiday non-photo card competition just started it’s voting process. There are sooooo many talented artists out there. I respect and admire them all, but if you feel so inclined, a vote in my direction would be oh-so appreciated!!! Click here for my design. Many thanks for your kind efforts!!

Mother’s Day Card Free Printable

IMG_4611Mother’s Day seems early this year and it’s the same week as teacher appreciation week so I’m a little behind the eight ball (what’s new?). But in the knick of time, I whipped this card up for my Mom to pop in the mail today.

As a Mom for seven years now, I always feel like there are those moments when you are dealing with one issue or another with your kids and lightbulbs go off in your head. You realize you did the exact same thing as a kid and how frustrated your mom must have been with you! So to all those Mother’s out there that have put in their time, I say sorry for holding my breath until I was blue. Sorry for arguing with my brother about who has more room in the backseat of the car. Sorry for not going to the bathroom before we left the house. Sorry for waking you up at night just because I thought I heard something. Sorry for throwing up in the grocery store checkout. Sorry for complaining about what’s for dinner. Sorry for my messy room and leaving a trail of stuff where ever I went. Sorry wearing hideous outfits…shall I go on? I could, but it would take all day. To tell your mom sorry, just click here to download your free PDF. Happy Mother’s Day to all you amazing Mom’s out there and thank you!

Free Printable Teacher Thank You Card – Phew!

IMG_4599Did teacher appreciation week sneak up on anyone else like it did me?! If it did, rest easy, I have a free printable teacher thank you card for you! Our teachers do a wonderful service in teaching and guiding our children to be prepared for adulthood. And nothing is more valuable then a teacher who cares about and works hard for our children. So regardless of our hectic lives and stuff we have going on, I at least want to give them a card – after all, our kiddos spend more time with their teachers than they do their parents during the school year (sniff, sniff). Just click here and print on white card stock and you are good-to-go to say “thank you” to that special teacher in your children’s lives.

Also, check out the free recipe cards I posted last week. I had my girls tell me their favorite recipe and then I typed them on the cards, printed them and am pairing them with these mini measuring spoons for a simple, yet sweet personalized gift for their teachers.
