I thought I had yeast to make the traditional version, but because just assumed I had some, when it came to the yeast step and went to grab it&#8230;sigh&#8230;I was out. So with a little improv and internet checking, I came up with a baking powder version for what I had already started and they came out yummy and easy!!! A little different in texture of course, but the flavors are there \ud83d\ude42 The recipe is below as well as some instagram easter basket and egg decorating idea pics I posted for Easter.<\/p>\n<h4>Ingredients:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"unit\">3 cups\u00a0<\/span>flour<\/li>\n<li>4.5 tsp baking posder<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"unit\">1\/2 tsp<\/span> salt<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"unit\">1\/4 tsp cardamom<\/span><\/li>\n<li>1\/4 tsp nutmeg<\/li>\n<li>zest of one navel orange<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"unit\">1\/2 tsp<\/span> ground cinnamon<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"unit\">3 Tbsp<\/span>\u00a0butter room temp<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"unit\">1\/4 cup sugar<\/span>\u00a0sugar<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"unit\">1\/4 cup<\/span>\u00a0dried cranberries<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup chopped dried apricots<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"unit\">1\/4 cup<\/span> raisins<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"unit\">1<\/span> egg<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"unit\">1 cup<\/span>\u00a0buttermilk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Directions: Makes 12<\/h4>\n<p>Preheat oven to\u00a0350 F<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span class=\"step\">Whisk\u00a0<\/span>dry ingredients, sugar, orange zest and fruit into a large bowl.<\/li>\n<li>Rub in butter with fingers until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"step\">Whisk\u00a0buttermilk and egg together and add to dry ingredients<\/span>. Mix just until a soft dough forms.<\/li>\n<li>Turn onto a floured board, knead lightly.<\/li>\n<li>Pat out to approximately 1 inch\u00a0thickness and, using a 3-4&#8243; round\u00a0cutter, cut into buns.<\/li>\n<li>Place onto lightly greased oven tray.<\/li>\n<li>Bake at 350\u00a0for 12-15 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Glaze: Mix 1\/4 cup powdered sugar with buttermilk\u00a0one\u00a0tablespoon at a time until a paste is formed.<\/li>\n<li>Remove from oven and brush buns with glaze.\u00a0<span class=\"step\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Cool buns on a wire rack.
